Promoting the scene of UK independent bands and artists.

www.ukindietouring.com

UK Indie Touring promotes the scene of UK independent bands and artists. If you’re about success at all costs, then this isn’t the place for you, but if you love music and people we want you!

We’re about building a community of like minded indie bands and people who love music, and basically having a good time!

Our aim is to build networks who help each other out with setting up tours and shows, promoting the music, sharing gear, being creative, spreading the word and local knowledge.

Artists we represent
UK Indie Touring has worked with a number of bands and DJs across the UK and around the world. Some of them can be found on our Gig Swap page.

We also represent the following artists:

The Dark Lights (London)

Christa Vi (London)

“The gorgeous tones of Christa Vi will break your heart. Her lyrics are honest and full of emotion, and combined with eclectic instrumentation she produces genre-defying tracks.” Musicosity

Vetoes (London)

“Vetoes in short form are simply indie rock and roll at its best.” BBC Introducing
“There’s many bands even in the charts who can’t match their energy…” Indie Bands Blog

Indie hot spot: Shacklewell Arms in East London

The Shacklewell Arms may not look like much from the outside, but is fast become one of the places to be in East London to check out up and coming indie bands. Manager Chris Rotter talks about how they’ve turned it from a Caribbean hangout into an indie hipster nightspot.

What’s been happening with the Shacklewell Arms?

The Shacklewell Arms for a long time was a no-go area, especially when it was called the Green Man in the late 90′s. Shut Up and Dance, the techno outfit released one of their most famous tunes about the place. Lets just say it was a very dark Caribbean hangout.

Get on board The Good Ship

The Good Ship in Kilburn, London, is known for its music focussed atmosphere and commitment to the live scene. An active supporter of independent bands, owner John, is passionate about creating a friendly and non-pretentious atmosphere in his establishment, which is why it is popular with musicians and punters alike. John was kind enough to answer a few questions that UK Indie Touring had for him…

Tell us about The Good Ship. How long has it been going and how did you get involved with running it?

The Coffee Revolution – independent music from independent cafes

It may not be the first place you look for a rock ‘n roll star, but it seems London coffee industry is harbouring a number of talented musicians and up and coming indie bands. The Coffee Revolution, run by boutique coffee company Climpson and Sons, sets out to exploit that talent through a series of showcase events at the Notting Hill Arts Club.

So is there actually coffee at The Coffee Revolution?

Navigating online tools to promote your band

Long gone are the days where you just promote your band on My Space. Do people still use My Space? Maybe they will now Justin Timberlake has a stake in the company. I digress…

There is a whole world of the Web 2.0 apps, widgets, blogs, cloud etc etc to get your music spread across the interweb.

It’s pretty hard to get your head around them all sometimes, so we’ve created a list of web tools that’d we’ve found quite useful.

This by no means an exhaustive list, who knows, in two weeks time they might be obsolete!
