Foghorn Stringband
The Foghorn Stringband (composed of local Americana all-stars Caleb Klauder, Stephen “Sammy” Lind, Peter Leone, Nadine Landry and Patrick Lind) features tight intstrumental work and a line-up — fiddle, banjo, mandolin, bass and guitar — reminiscent of early bluegrass, but their powerful approach is whole-heartedly Old Time, centered largely by the fiddle. Devoted to the interpretation and performance of American stringband music, their style encompasses early country music, the fiddle repertoire of the Southern Appalachians and the Midwest, and the stringband sounds of the Piedmont region.

Lydia Loveless
Blessed with a commanding, blast-it-to-the-back-of-the room voice, the 21-year-old Lydia Loveless was raised on a family farm in Coshocton, Ohio, US—a small weird town with nothing to do but make music. With a dad who owned a country music bar, Loveless often woke up with a house full of touring musicians scattered on couches and floors. When she got older, in the time-honored traditions of teenage rebellion, she turned her back on these roots, moved to the city (Columbus, OH) and immersed herself in the punk scene...
Stacey Earle
Stacey Earle is the sister of country music's Steve Earle (who often joins her in her music.) She arrived in Nashville in 1990 after her divorce--to help Steve with his children while he went on tour. After Steve heard her tinkering around at home with music one day, he asked her to help him record; later, she joined Steve on tour as back-up. From there, she started her own music career.
Her music has been described as acoustic folk, her lyrics as emotional, and her melodies as pretty. She has been compared to Nanci Griffith and Iris Dement.
