Refused is a hardcore punk band originating from Umeå, Sweden, formed in 1991. The band's final lineup comprised its founding members, vocalist Dennis Lyxzén and drummer David Sandström, as well as guitarists Kristofer Steen and Jon Brännström. Their lyrics were often of a non-conformist and politically far-left nature. The band released five EPs and three albums before initially splitting up in 1998.
Three Trapped Tigers
Three Trapped Tigers are an instrumental noisenik outfit from London who exhibit the precision of electronica, the raw intensity of rock music and the schizophrenic spontaneity of their electro-improv past. Not easily classifiable, but with influences ranging from Aphex Twin and Squarepusher to Lightning Bolt and Battles. The music veers wildly from noisy guitars to contemplative synths, frantic beats to ambient noise.
Farm
Farm is a band in which three two-handed men write songs and play them. These six hands belong to Joshua Givens, Ben Maddox, and Jedd Kettler. They're music ranges from quiet, dark folk, and catchy indie pop to full-frontal rock. They switch instruments and singing duties. Along with guitar, keys, bass, and drums, farm's music also uses instruments that are less common to standard rock and folk: trumpet, morin huur (mongolian horse head fiddle), allen wrenches, water bottles, slabs of metal, lighters, and various other found sounds.
